Normally, he'd find some relief from the crowd on the outside nearest the street, but today it was more crowded then usual. He was forced to endure dozens of bodies close to his own, doing nothing but adding to his already abnormally high body temperature and most likely their as well. Not that he cared, of course, but people tended to get unhappy or angry when it got a little hot. Try living a day in my shoes, then complain about heat. He thought to himself. Of course, he couldn't complain about his 'condition'. After all, with it came a special power - the power to control heat and fire. A particularly useful skill when fighting off those annoying Erasers and souts.
Speaking of the devils, they hadn't shown up in a quite a while. For at least two weeks, Theo had been able to enjoy some peace, but he learned to never let his guard down completely. They attacked when he was most vulnerable, as if they could read his mind or something. He was pretty sure that wasn't possible, though. At least, he hoped so. With Itex, one never knew and personally, he wouldn't be all too surprised.
That particular thought was pushed out of his mind as he paused outside a store that sold smoothies, looking at the display of the different types of flavors they had. His favorite of course matched his favorite fruit - Orange. But he didn't have any money and the place was empty, so he couldn't go in and pretend that someone else's drink was actually his own. It would have been the perfect relief for his body too.
Theo sighed unhappily as he turned away from the window. He'd finally made it to sunny California and he didn't even have money to buy something to drink to ward off the summer heat. He heaved a light sigh, frustrated and kept walking. At least that would keep his body temperature normal, at least by his standards. He walked up to the corner before stopping, taking a look around in contemplation. All he wanted to find right now was some shade. Somewhere he could sit and relax and take a break after that ridiculous walk. Next time, he was going to invest in a bus to get from city to city. Money or no -- he could just sit on top and hold on tight.
Crowds of people pushed passed him to cross as the light finally shifted to a 'WALK' symbol but Theo stayed still, hands in his pockets. He waited until the sidewalk had completely cleared, enjoying the few brief seconds of relative coolness before another hoard that was crossing toward him started to push passed, the heat practically sticking to his body.
"This place is too crowded," he said to himself with a frown. That was the price to pay for a place in which he could easily hide though. Blend in.That was all he had to do here was be a normal teenager and he wouldn't have to worry about being discovered. After two years out on the run, even ITEX had probably stopped trying to find him.
Well standing here thinking about ITEX certainly wasn't going to help him blend in. What if there were experiments that could read his mind and found him? He'd only managed a few steps around the corner when suddenly, he bumped into someone; rather hard mind you, and took a few stumbling steps back. He pulled his hands from his pockets, resting one against the wall to his right to catch his balance and scowled. "Hey, watch where you're going," he snapped.

in truth, the girl was rather pretty. at the moment however, he light lavender hair was bouncing on her shoulders. experiments, made to be itex's watch dogs were after her. why? because she had just recently escaped from the school. she was an experiment herself, one that they apparently did not want to lose. she had power in many ways others did not, the ability to manipulate the weather and also the ability to transform herself into something that was not human.
so why not use that power now? the girl could of used the ability a long time ago. the only reason she had not, was because, there were people here. others, people who could get hurt. humans that had nothing wrong with them, they were normal. how the girl thought of being normal again, but she wouldn't let herself become low in spirits. she couldn't really afford it right now. a small squeak came from her mouth as she bumped into different people as she ran. she saw the looks normal people gave her. they thought she was weird and idiotic for running from nothing.
she was not delirious as they thought. Itex was cruel and merciless. even to their own watchdogs. they had created something new this time, something that was unseen by normal humans and even by some experiments. a new invention so to say, it made their watchdogs, invisible. the girl would constantly look back to see if they were following her. she unfortunately, could see them, the scientists had injected her with that previously. now it was making things hard on the girl, the drug was kicking in and out. she would disappear and reappear every few minutes.
it had been when she was looking behind her that she felt herself collide with someone. she squeaked rather loudly as she felt her body thud into the other persons. she moaned softly. she blinked though from the ground where she sat. people seemed to have left other than her and the person. probably because of the dark clouds above. that was when she heard them, the snarls of the newly created erasers, these had no tags, no dates however.
she looked back. they were no longer invisible, no this time they were changing, but they looked more like wolves than humans. a new feature for tracking and speed. "get that girl." one growled. arya squeaked at the nasty voice. she looked back up at the boy that seemed like he was sort of taking everything in, she guessed. she knew one thing. they wouldn't let him go after he had seen what he had seen.
she had no idea the same boy she had knocked into would be an experiment. the girl got up quickly as on the wolves lunged at her. it missed by a few inches. as she got up she took in a deep breath. when she released it seemed like a fog came out of her mouth. it made a mist that would block even the erasers keen eyes and smell. it wouldn't last long though.
arya didn't really know what to do. so she did the first thing that came to her mind. she grabbed onto the boy's arm. "i-i'm sorry." she said quickly trying to not let herself think that she was touching a boy. then she pulled him gently willing that he would run with her. she would lead him down a small alleyway. it was a good thing the other people had disappeared. it seemed that soon enough this would be an all out battle.
